“AI data centers are ALSO bad” wasn’t your initial statement, and you know it.
And even if it was, that’s kind of beside the point. AI data centers are a relatively new (10 years) usage of the energy produced with the burning of hydrocarbons. The burning of hydrocarbons is the problem and has been for 150 years.
We can’t focus on the real problem if you insist on redirection of people’s ire towards your latest socio-political beef.


Conservatives in the US (at least as a platform, not so much down to the individual) have mostly given up pretending that the climate isn’t changing, they are just refusing to take responsibility for it. They are currently pretending it’s an act of God/ nature and that it’s laughable for man to be able to influence it.
I wish US Americans would do this, but when I try to use it, it’s too ambiguous with our mm/dd/yyyy format that already exists. So, I think the US will have to go with YYYYMMDD. That’s the most straightforward and easy to understand method of switching to an entirely numeric date sequence that is logical.
