  • Makes sense, Reddit feels like a shell of it’s former self.

After the apicalypse many subs seems to have died, also the new UI that has been pushed for a decade or so, seems to promote consumption of content and discourage creation of content, further reducing new content.

Reddit has been many, many times by AI companies, why keep scanning if the content stays 98% the same, with most new content being of mostly lower quality, simply due to people posting AI shit.

This was a very predictable outcome.

As soon as Reddit’s history got scanned by AI models, it lost 98% of it’s future value.

  • The way I see the situation is that every single AI company can clearly see the massive wall they are speeding ever faster towards, they see it and can also see that it is a massive wall, thick and sturdy.

There is however one thing that keeps them pushing the accelerator down hard against the floor, the delusion that they alone are smart enough to find the prefect weakpoint where they can smash through to the promised land of massive promises, while everyone else is just flattened against the wall.

It is extreme narcissism combined with yes men powering this shit.

  • “Presidential Alert”

Not only is it wrong, but the name of the warning is stupid.

Not that “Prime Minister Alert” would have been better.

No, better to use something a bit more generic, here are some examples:

    “National Alert”

“Class 5 Alert - Imminent danger!”

    “Government Alert”

    “Weather Alert”

    “Wildfire Alert”

    “Public Health Alert”

“Presidential Alert” just sounds like a Trumpism, as if he was too good for normal alerts, and he “only responds to the most beautiful ‘Presidential Alerts’ presented on paper with gilded borders…”
