It’s almost as if connecting every single electric/electronic device in my house is bad idea!
Wireless devices being vulnerable? I am shocked. SHOCKED!
That was a super interesting read!
Welp, now I have to make sure all my equipment is not only connected by wire but also *incapable* of wireless connectivity.
That’s…not great, because almost all printers are capable of wireless connectivity. 😬
I’m confused as to why we’re talking about printers since this article is only about hacking this specific brand of bluetooth speaker and using it to perform commands on a PC. If you have a different speaker then it’s fine. Plus, if your printer doesn’t have bluetooth then it won’t get hacked by this exploit anyway.
Not by this vulnerability, true, but I’m sure every printer’s Wi-Fi implementation has its share of vulnerabilities, and I normally connect printers by USB.
If printers can be remotely controlled through Wi-Fi vulnerabilities, can they not be used to mount BadUSB attacks as well?
you could turn off wifi in your printers settings tho. or just turn the printer on when you actually print something
Yeah, that’s what I do. Hopefully it’s enough, and the Wi-Fi isn’t secretly always listening.
