No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why do so many people regardless of whether their reasonings are justified or not pinpoint South Park for ruining a generation of millenials?
277·13 hours agoPeople who think South Park ruined anything or that the creators are politically shitty do not get it and probably haven’t watched much of it. Imo to think they are politically shitty, it takes being a purity tester type who is looking for secret evil everywhere. The type who is not satisfied with the evil people being honest about their beliefs, they know the truth: most people who claim to have leftist views are actually secretly evil conservatives. This is a type of person I will never get along with.

61·13 hours agoI think you nailed it. You can take what you want from their episodes oftentimes, they are not trying to convince anyone of anything but how stupid some people and things are from at least one perspective. That’s it. When people act like they’re anti leftist or something like that, they’ve 100% missed what was being done.

32·13 hours agoDo you watch it? I definitely think sometimes they are making valid and salient points and sometimes those points touch on things at least adjacent to socialism.

Programming@programming.dev•Why do so many programming languages have their own package manager?
2·14 hours agoHaha sure I guess. I think before package managers people used a hodge podge of manual systems to manage dependencies and it sucked. Your way sounds even worse tbh
Well the way you expressed your preference sounds like you don’t accept time sensitivity as a valid thing.
In what world do you live that time sensitivity is never a thing? Also it’s just a helluva lot easier sometimes to talk for one minute instead of write for 10 and still get the wrong tone.
That’s hilarious

Exactly… and I’m definitely living in a higher than average cost of living area. What people seem to think is if you can find overpriced food (they don’t seem to particularly care for) then they have an excuse to seem madder about food (they don’t seem to particularly care for) prices.

Hence “adjacent”. This is quite clearly criticism of at least one key aspect of capitalism:
