Reddit is just Ai trash these days and the effort needed to block the Ai garbage bots near daily is insane. I come to Lemmy and feel happy seeing new shit. I go to Reddit and it feels like nothing but garbage.

Majority of anti-cheats do not work or not added to linux versions. So things like BF6, GTAO, etc do not work on linux sadly. If they did I would already be on linux full time.

If you can have two computers one should always be Linux. But gaming and certain software just does not work on Linux yet sadly. Hoping steam can turn that around.

That is a option but it’s performance is bad and you need at least fifteen mix character password every time you boot. If you game you need to use bitlocker sadly or load times dive hard. Having a second drive in full Veracrypt is fine for things like basic documents but not to game on.

Save a copy of your bitlocker keys to a Veracrypt drive with a password no shorter then 15 mixed characters. Then upload that encrypted container to any free service. They wont be able to open it and now you have a remote backup copy.

Remember fire arms are for the rich and if you try to have them debate a gov program to give everyone a fire arm to embrace their 2nd amendment right they will back track real quick. Every time a pour community is given fire arms you will hear the right ask for gun regulations faster then ever.

I do and if the computer is for work yes update to 11. But for gaming only why would anyone care if it doesn’t break your games? I do nothing but game on a PC and have no need to update until it is required for gaming. Also it is not like on that date all security updates to that point vanish. Firefox and Chrome will still update for security. Malwarebytes will still also update for security.

Why? Nothing requires Windows 11. It doesn’t even have a new directx which is why most had to upgrade from 7. Browsers and malware software will work for years. Hell malwarbytes still updates for Window 7.

People I once could say I respected became cold way to fast. It is even shown in many other parts of their life. I always hope they can find the way back to who they were. But I feel like it will take a long time. But I will not give up trying to hold my ground on trying to do the right thing. Not just Google. Duck duck go was good for awhile but now also getting worse. Assume this is Ai and other tools screwing with how their web crawlers collect data. Expect it to get worse before it gets better.
