They make a lot of money on Office365, which doesn’t work on Linux without WINE. With people switching to Linux, they’re going to start switching to LibreOffice and OpenOffice, killing one of MS’s cash cows.

I don’t care. It’s bundled in with even the basic plan, which means you’re paying for it, even if you don’t use it. And no, it’s not magically better to use open models.

Edit: Aaaand they have a built in AI despite calling themselves “human-focussed”. That’s a turnoff. If I’m paying for a search engine, I’d prefer to have a subscription option with the AI stripped out so I’m not subsidizing it for others.

Programmers already spend about as-much of their time, if not more, reading other’s code as they do writing their own.

And how is this an argument in favor of AI code? If 5-10 percent of you job used to be writing code and now you dropped it by half, that’s not very effective of optimization. Especially if the code you now have to review takes more time to review due to it being generated by AI.
