CXMT will also sell at outrageous prices. It’s free money.
Making friends through text can be hard. Obviously you want to be in a space where people share the same interest as you, as a common interest you can discuss.
If you play video games, it’s a lot easier the break that ground. Chatting to people in-game is a good way to make friends as you always have a bounce back topic as you learn more about each other.
Typing sucks, I always use voice or ask someone if they want to. So much easier to gauge someone that way. But online gaming has become more anti-social over the last 5+ years.

No tangible amount of people are going to put their money where their mouth is. Gamers have time and time again shown that they can be screwed over. It’s all words until they pull out of the next World Cup. If they didn’t boycott Russia, Qatar, USA and no word on the Saudi World Cup, then they are not going to do anything now. It’s all greed and corruption all the way through.

Web apps ruined UX though, at least with apps (historically anyway) you would get some consistent UI. There were design guidelines developers could follow. Same for programs on PCs.
Then PWAs came along and ruined UI/UX. Do UX designers even exist anymore?
Sigh. But trading good UI for tracking and data collection, is indeed, not worth it.
It’s good for awareness, that’s the point. Not to actually make a rival pair of glasses. It advertises DuckDuckGo, privacy in general and brings attention to the problems of glasses with cameras in.
We don’t need “smart”-glasses.
